Confidence Building

Course Overview

This course has been developed to enable participants to develop an understanding of what being confident means and how it affects them. The course aims to increase participants’ feelings of self-esteem and confidence through a range of activities.

Participants will be invited to take part in group discussions and individual exercises to develop their skills. As part of the session participants will develop their own “Confidence” action plan to take away with them and receive resources for further information and personal development.

Who Should Attend?

This course is geared towards those who want to develop their levels of confidence in their daily lives and in their communication with others. It would also benefit those seeking to get back into the job market but lack confidence to do so. It can be used as a precursor to our job skills session.

Assertiveness Skills

One Day Course (or five 2 hour sessions over five weeks)

This course has been developed to enable participants to understand effective, assertive behaviour and learn strategies to develop communication skills, delegation skills and overall confidence.

Participants will be invited to take part in group discussions and individual exercises to develop their skills. As part of the session participants will develop their own “Assertive” action plan to take away with them and receive resources for further information and personal development.

This course is geared towards those who want to develop a more assertive, confident approach to their daily lives and in their communication with others.

NEW for 2015: IT for Wellbeing


Course Outline

Course duration: 7.5 hours delivered as 1.5 hour sessions over  5 weeks           

Overview:
This 5 week course provides participants with an overview of some of the support and tools available online to help them improve their own wellbeing. It is a suitable tool to engage people in the use of digital technology.

Aims:

  • Engage participants through the use of IT with online resources to support wellbeing.

  • Support participants to access quality online health resources.

  • Support participants to find ways of working to improve their wellbeing using online resources.

  • Engage participants with tablet technology through the use of wellbeing apps and podcasts.

  • Provide participants with information for potential sources of further support.


Outcomes

  • Participants will have a better understanding of how to use the internet to support their wellbeing.

  • Participants will know reliable sources for information on the internet relating to wellbeing.

  • Participants will have a Living Life to the Full account and be able to negotiate the website independently.

  • Participants will have knowledge of 3 wellbeing apps and how to find wellbeing podcasts.

  • Participants will know where to access further support online and in the local community for help with IT and Wellbeing.
